Yes, we've had our trees up since October, but December is finally here! Cue the confetti, the at-home baking, a warm beverage, and the cozy winter holiday season outfits! The holidays are here in full swing and we're all about it! Team Love Fitness is in the holiday spirit and in the words of one of our favorite Christmas elves may say,

"The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!"

- Buddy the Elf

And while you may not hear us singing, you can definitely expect us to go ALL out this holiday season! First stop, holiday movies! Celebrate all month long with these winter and holiday season favorites.

Day 1

Home alone

Nothing says the holidays like hearing the quote, "Merry Christmas ya' filthy animal." We love this movie for the silly Kevin McCallister pranks, but there is such a warmth to how Kevin always receives kindness from unexpected people and places. Even after watching this a million times, you'll see me barreling over in laughter every time. While from 1990, this movie is classic, timeless, and definitely a must watch for the holiday season, bound to get you in the holiday spirit!

You can watch this movie on Disney Plus.

Day 2

Klaus

Klaus holiday is a movie about a postman and toymaker, who partner up to deliver old toys to children in the town. This is a sweet narrative that shows how little acts of kindness go a long way in encouraging others to spread positivity as well.

You can watch this movie on Netflix

Day 3

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas!

A holiday season classic, this movie is bound to make your heart grow 3 sizes. If you're having a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year, there's no better way than seeing the Grinch, thaw out his ice cold heart and change his holiday-hating ways after seeing that Christmas means more to people than just the things that decorate the holiday.

You can rent this movie on Amazon Prime or watch it on Peacock.

Day 4

Jack Frost

Jack Frost is a holiday tale of redemption. In focussing more on his musical career, Jack Frost was absent to his wife and son in his life. A year after passing during an accident on Christmas Day, his son plays his harmonica, which brings him back to life in the form of a snow man. This allows Jack Frost to make up for lost time and shows him the value of family.

You can watch this movie on HBO Max.

Day 5

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas

In contrast to popular belief The Nightmare Before Christmas IS A CHRISTMAS MOVIE. I'm putting my foot down on this one. Even Jack Skellington sees that there's something so special to Christmas when he visits Christmastown, wishes to become Santa Claus and celebrate the wintery holiday instead of Halloween. If you love spooky season as well as the winter holiday season, this movie is for you - the funky fusion of our favorite holidays in a must watch movie for both seasons.

You can watch this movie on Disney Plus.

Day 6

Jingle All The Way

What are the holidays without a little bit of chaos? Jingle All The Way shows the desperation of getting the perfect holiday gift in time for the holidays. This movie has us laughing as we watch father Howard Langston go through endless measures to get the highest demand action figure toy of the season for his son, losing track of the meaning of Christmas along the way.

You can watch this movie on Youtube with a premium subscription.

Day 7

Elf

Elf is debatably the most quotable holiday movie of all time. While being naive to the world outside of the North Pole, Buddy The Elf tries navigating the difficult task, which is developing a relationship with his naughty-list birth father and his family. While he may do so in unique ways like making spaghetti with syrup for breakfast or epic snowball fights, Buddy always finds a way to bring Christmas spirit to those around him.

You can watch this movie on Amazon Prime or HBO Max.

Day 8

Die Hard

A heated debate takes place every year... is Die Hard a holiday movie? Whether you believe it is or not, we figured it deserves a little more than an honorable mention. While him, his family, and others are held hostage by terrorists during a holiday party on Christmas Eve, NYC policeman John McClane realizes it is up to him to save the day.

You can watch this movie on Hulu and Starz.

Day 9

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

This is the time of year to remember that Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is more than just an iconic Christmas song, but also just as iconic of a movie! This movie reminds us that the things that make us different are also the things that make us special. Rudolph may be a "misfit" for his glowing nose, but he still manages to save Christmas by leading the reindeer at the front of Santa's sleigh during a Blizzard on Christmas Eve night.

You can watch this movie by renting on Amazon Prime.

Day 10

Iron Man 3

In this film, Iron Man takes on his most dangerous foe yet.. PTSD. He plays a scrooge-like role, lacking humanity and spirit during the holiday season. After the events of the first Avengers film, Tony Stark has become reliant on his suits that give him the abilities of Iron Man. He finds himself in a difficult position when he is unable to use his suit after being attacked by a terrorist organization. Stark meets a young boy who helps him find both his humanity and spirit, without the need of his suit.

You can watch this movie on Disney Plus.

Day 11

A Christmas Story

A Christmas Story holds a place in many people's hearts, because it may be the first holiday story that shows dysfunctional family dynamics. As we know, the holidays can be messy and stressful, but through it all, the Parkers still find themselves coming together to celebrate.

You can watch this movie on HBO Max.

Day 12

Frozen

Frozen is bound to get you in the mood for Winter and chillier days. This movie celebrates being your true self and how love for family can be what you need to warm up heart. As Olaf may say, "some people are worth melting for."

You can watch this movie on Disney Plus.

Day 13

Frosty The Snowman

As one of our favorite holiday snowmen might say, "Happy Birthday!" This movie is a cute classic that brings wonder to the season with a snowman that is brought to life with a magic hat.

Frosty is not available on streaming services at this time, but you can watch this movie on cable. Hulu also offers live TV options where you may be able to watch in the case you don't have cable.

Day 14

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

This is one of those rare occurrences where the second movie is just as good as the first. Kevin loses his family yet again and finds himself on the wrong flight, lost in NYC during Christmas with his dad's credit cards and money - enough to make NYC his playground. The movie invokes similar feelings as the first, but with new crazy funny events that'll have you laughing just as much.

You can find this movie on Disney Plus.

Day 15

The Santa Clause

Scott Calvin finds himself in a predicament after putting on Santa's jacket, making him become Santa Claus. He's a businessman who lacks the spirit of Christmas and this new role forces him to take on a new perspective on the holiday, helping him grow closer to family and see value in the season.

You can watch this movie on Disney Plus.

Day 16

A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol is a classic play, with so many different versions in movies. It follows the story of a mean, unhappy, and selfish old man, Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge gets taken through various Christmases in his life by Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. His journey shows him the err in his ways and makes him want to change for a better future.

You can watch Disney's version of this movie on Disney Plus, but there are so many amazing versions worth checking out!

Day 17

Miracle on 34th Street

This movie is a heartwarming classic. Susan Walker, a doubting 6 year old little girl, is convinced by a department store Santa Claus, that he is the real deal. With events to follow that put Kris Kringle in legal trouble, it has to be proven in court that he is in fact Santa Claus.

You can watch this movie on Disney Plus.

Day 18

Christmas With The Kranks

Every year the Kranks are known for participating in holiday traditions and events for the season. For one year, they decide to go on a trip for themselves to the Caribbean instead. They are met with lots of opposition as many people in the town frown upon them, trying to push them to celebrate the holiday season with annual traditions.

You can watch this movie on Youtube premium.

Day 19

The Polar Express

The Polar Express is an iconic holiday adventure as a doubting young boy finds himself on a train to the North Pole to see Santa Claus give the first gift of Christmas. The movie shows us that seeing is not necessarily believing and the wonder in life never fades for those who truly believe.

You can watch this movie on HBO Max.

Day 20

The Santa Clause 2

Let's be real. Most of The Santa Clause movies are pretty great. So we had to add the second to the holiday movie list. What's great about this series is that all the movies are different as far as the plots go, but we still have those recognizable characters. For this one, when Scott finds out Charlie is on the naughty list, he leaves the North Pole in efforts to be more present in Charlie's life. He leaves control with a temporary Santa and things go awry.

You can watch this movie on Disney Plus.

Day 21

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

You may not have yet heard of this one, but Disney just released this Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special in November '22. Mantis wants to bring the spirit of Christmas to Peter Quill, who is feeling down and not in the same spirit after the loss of Gamora. Mantis and Drax team up to bring Kevin Bacon from Earth as a gift to Quill. This movie was such a light-hearted silly watch as these aliens have no idea about Christmas and human etiquette.

You can watch this movie on Disney Plus.

Day 22

Rise of the Guardians

The Rise of the Guardians, while can be not a holiday movie by default, it encompasses holiday themes that can be enjoyed during the season. Jack Frost desires to be "believed in" by children like the other guardians. The guardians must come together in this story to stop the Boogeyman, Pitch, from taking away the hopes and dreams of all children.

You can watch this movie on Amazon Prime.

Day 23

A Charlie Brown Christmas

What I really love about this movie is just how timeless it really is. Charlie Brown is discouraged and down by the holiday, because of all of the commercialism that comes with it. The true value of the holiday season isn't in all the glitz and glam, but those moments of coming together. In taking the role to direct the Christmas play, Charlie and his friends clash visions on the direction of the play, but at the end come together by helping Charlie's small sprig of a Christmas tree grow into a big tree with a little love and support.

You can watch this movie on Apple Plus.

Day 24

Santa Claus is Comin' to Town

There's just something special about ringing in the holiday season with the classics. Santa Claus is Comin' to Town shows the origin of Kris Kringle and Santa Claus, through the narration of a post man.

You can rent this movie on Amazon Prime and on Vudu.

Day 25

A Year Without a Santa Claus

Cannot go a year without the classics! Are you Team Snow Miser or Team Heat Miser? Making a decision between the two might be too much! A Year Without a Santa Claus is a holiday movie classic, showing iconic characters like Mrs. Claus, Heat Miser, Snow Miser, and more try to come together to get Santa Claus back into the spirit of Christmas instead of taking a year off.

You can rent this movie on Youtube, Google Play, Apple TV, and Vudu.
